Papa’s blues band, special guest VAL COWELL. One of THE most popular Crooked Billet musicians. Over the years, Papa performed at the pub with MICKY MOODY, Zoot Money, Papa George band & solo. Muddy Waters described George as a ‘powerful spectacular blues artist with the personality & nuance as a master entertainer’. A professional career spanning 5 decades; influenced by Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf & Fleetwood Mac’s Peter Green. From London’s clubs & bars to an enormous European following. Inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame 2013, a master blues artist. Val Cowell’s professional blues career also spanning 5 decades. Acclaimed vocal & guitarist described as London’s Bonnie Raitt - tidal wave of a voice, powerful, rocky, solid blues guitarist. Championed by BBC Radio Two’s Paul Jones’ blues show, Val enjoys a huge UK & European following. Papa & Val’s paths have crossed on numerous occasions.
