Chris Jagger & Friends

Tuesday 25th November ‘25

Quite a character! Delighted to welcome Chris Jagger & his band back to The Crooked Billet. Deliciously entertaining music mix of bluesy cajón folky acoustic-ish rootsy Americana; tricky to pigeon hole or categorise - but they’re bloody good. Besides, pigeon holes are for pigeons & categories for cats.

Jagger born in 1947 has worked in many fields, theatre, cinema, fashion (designed many of Jimi Hendrix’s outfits), art, music, TV production & journalism (Telegraph, Guardian, Mail, Independent).

Music - he wrote & presented the BBC programme about blues pioneer Alexis Korner. Also produced the film ‘I Got The Blues in Austin’. Organised charity concerts with the Dalai Lama, acts including David Gilmore & Sinead O’Connor. Jagger’s song ‘Still Waters’ appears on the 2013 Carla Olson album ‘Have Harmony Will Travel’. Jagger occasionally teams up with his brother Mick to record duets - most recently in 2021, they recorded ‘Anyone Seen My Heart’. His song ‘Hey Brother’ is about his relationship with brother Mick. Jagger has recorded & worked with many including the Flying Burrito Brothers, Vanessa Paradis, Al Stewart & Alan Parsons. He contributed on two of the Rolling Stones albums, ‘Dirty Work’ & ‘Steel Wheels’.

Tuesday 25th November. Chris: guitar, vocals, harmonica, wash board. Ellie: violin, vocals. Dave (The Kursaal Flyers): double bass. Charlie Hart: piano, violin, accordion. Charlie Hart & Chris Jagger, friends & musical collaborators for decades. Legendary recording sessions with Mick Jagger & Andrew Oldham. Charlie played with Ian Dury - Kilburn & The High Roads, Blockheads. Ronnie Lane’s Slim Chance, Wreckless Eric, Pete Townsend - oh this list is endless, Google him.
