A Memorial Celebration to Gypsy Guitarist Ian Cruickshank

Featuring Ian’s friends, Europe’s finest Gypsy Jazz musicians including Jeff Green, Jezz Cook, John Coverdale, Nils Solberg, Alyn Shipton, Alan Barnes, Pete Morgan, Ade
Holland, Chris Garrick, Denny Ilett, Trevor Davies, Paul Vernon Chester. Special guests on Tuesday 20th include Piotr Jordan & Howard Moore. Special guests on Wednesday 21st include John Etheridge & Mike Piggot. The audience can expect further guest Gypsy musicians on both evenings.
Performing on 2 stages, a non stop festival of Gypsy Jazz celebrating & remembering Ian Cruickshank. Ian worked on the TV program “The Django Legacy” he introduced numerous European Gypsy musicians to UK audiences. He lived locally in Woodcote Oxfordshire/ Berkshire boarders. Recorded numerous Gypsy Jazz albums & author of 2 acclaimed books exploring Django Reinhardt & Gypsy Jazz. Local Beatle George Harrison was a gypsy Jazz fan, Ian often visited George at his Henley home Friar Park. Ian passed April 29th 2017, his wife Cathy & daughter Bonnie, have given the Crooked Billet memorial celebration their support & blessing.
